Our Dana 44 Stub Shaft C-Clip Eliminator Kit is what you need when using a Locker or Posi (Limited Slip Diff) in Dana 44 3rd Member. This bracket is designed to keep the Stub Shaft from falling out while the suspension is articulating. The factory C-Clip that holds the axle stub shaft can not be installed when using a locker or posi. This creates a issue of nothing to hold the stub shaft in place. There are other inadequate fixes where people use a valve spring to put pressure on the stub shaft. Which can work for street driving, but tends to fail once the truck goes off-road. Our solution will work for both on and off-road driving.
The Dana 44 Stub Shaft C-Clip Eliminator Bracket made from 1/8" Chro-moly plate for strength and rigidity. We machined a delrin bushing that is pressed into the bracket for the stub shaft to ride on. We also machined a billet aluminum collet that utilizes a set screw to tighten around the stub shaft. Which acts as the stop to keep the stub shaft from pulling out of the 3rd member. This bracket is design to pick up a factory hole location to make for a easy install, also the bracket can be bolted on or welded on.
