The New Process Model 208 is and aluminum case, planetary-gear reduction unit with a 2.61:1 low-range ratio.
It uses a chain to drive the front output shaft.

Keeping the case full of clean oil and will prevent overheating.  A well taken care of NP208 is a strong, long lasting, durable transfercase.

Bolt On Front And Rear Output Yokes, Non-Synchronized.
