In all forms of motor sport racing one critical area that requires special attention is the engine mounting.
Generally motor mounts are made from soft rubber and steel components molded together.
Fine for stock automobiles but for racing, in particular off-road racing, stock mounts would separate from the engine torque against them.
This ultimately led to limit cables or solid metal mounts.
The problem with solid metal mounts is fatigue cracking, caused from engine harmonics and vibration, eventually caused something to break.
Sometimes the casted area on the engine block would disintegrate as well causing immense financial pain.
All the high buck engines are mounted with motor plates.
These bolt to the front and back machined surfaces of the engine block and require special attention to water pumps, pulleys, flywheels, and bellhousing alignment.
This is the ultimate method but very expensive and time consuming.
