The 1978-79 Ford Bronco utilized both a 25.5 gallon fuel tank and a 33 gallon fuel tank. and were available with or without emissions ports. We offer both steel and plastic fuel tanks. All of the tanks are designed for carbureted applications and have a 2 inch sending unit opening.

The 25.5 gallon fuel tank has a total tank depth of 12.75 inches and was available from the factory with lower tank straps or an optional skid plate. The 33 gallon fuel tank has a total depth of 15.75 inches and was only available with a lower skid plate. Lower tank straps were not available from the factory with the 33 gallon fuel tanks.

The emissions provisions for the fuel tanks is an additional hole on the top of the fuel tank. This hole provided a location for the tank breather valve that is retained buy a seal. Attached to the valve is a vent line that runs the charcoal canister located in the engine bay.

The plastic tanks are a nice alternative to the steel because they will not rust over time. The steel is great in the fact that is offer the original style stamping and lock ring design and provides a more cost effective solution,

We offer a video to help decipher what tank is right for you.
